SCENE 8
INT. INT. MAGNET OIL AND GAS/MISS ETIM'S OFFICE -
CONTINOUS
Amara enters with coffee and sets it on table. Miss Etim
is on a telephone conversation.
If we are to supply ninety-nine thousand litres of
diesel...
(Punches calculator on desktop)
...that will be fifteen million Naira. That’s
at N150 per litre... Ah, Alhaji, you want me to bargain away... One hundred and
thirty naira is not good at all. Let’s leave it at N140 per litre... So how do
you wish to pay?
Amara!
(INTO PHONE)
Alhaji, can you please hold the line for me?...
Thanks.
(To Amara)
Is Mrs.
Ogunbowale in her office?
AMARA
Should I get her for you, ma’am?
No, no, no. Is she in her office?
AMARA
Yes ma’am.
I’ll see her myself. Thanks.
AMARA
I made your favourite coffee.
(Smiles) Thank you.
Amara
leaves and Miss Etim returns to her phone conversation.
Sorry to put you on hold, Alhaji... So did you
say you’d like to make a cheque payment?...Hope
you know I won’t release the supplies until your cheque clears?... Then make
use of a bank draft. In that way, I’m sure of my money when the deal is done...
Then I can ask my staff to make the supplies tomorrow...It’s not a trust issue,
Alhaji. This is business.
