SCENE 1

EXT. LAGOON - NIGHT

A man is seen waiting around the lagoon. He paces about impatiently. Shortly, Tekena, 35, can be seen approaching. Tekena gets to the lagoon and picks stones from the ground. Man watches him as he throws stones into the lagoon three times.

MAN

(To Tekena)

You're late.

TEKENA

Are you Antonio?

Man starts walking towards car.

ANTONIO

Of course I'm Antonio and you're late. It shows you've been having a rethink and not ready to take out your mark.

TEKENA

Why'd you say that? I was just five minutes late.

ANTONIO

You still used the word late in your sentence that shows you're late.

TEKENA

Okay. Sorry I'm late.

ANTONIO

Sorry? I'm a very busy man - I guess that's where they got the word businessman - so you'll have to pay for the time I spent here waiting before we can commence discussion.

TEKENA

How much?

ANTONIO

You said you were five minutes late?

TEKENA

Yea.

ANTONIO

That's five hundred thousand naira.

TEKENA

Five hundred...!

Antonio starts car engine.

TEKENA

Wait! Wait. I'll pay. But I don't that kind of have cash on me here.

ANTONIO

You have your phone on you?

TEKENA

Yea.

ANTONIO

Is it smart?

TEKENA

You mean if it's a smart phone? Yea, it's a smart phone.

ANTONIO

Make a cash transfer into my account.

TEKENA

That's gonna leave a trace back to me. That's why I didn't use my registered line to call you.

ANTONIO

So how and when do I get my money?

TEKENA

I'll give you in cash before you commence operation. How do you operate?

ANTONIO

Okay. I'm sure you know what it means to lie to me? Let's go.

Tekena starts walking towards the other direction.

ANTONIO(CONT'D)

Hey! Where're you going?

TEKENA

I want to get my car so I can follow you.

ANTONIO

No, man. Get into my car and let's go.

TEKENA

Oh, okay.

Tekena enters car and they zoom off.
