SCENE 3

INT. LASHE'S HOUSE/LIVING ROOM - MID-NIGHT

Door opens, Lashe, 33, enters. She looks devastated. She starts taking off her shoes and earrings. Door opens again and Tekena appears. He goes to drop car keys on TV shelf. He looks at Lashe staring quietly at unplugged TV. He shakes head and starts climbing stairs. As he climbs halfway, Lashe breaks silence:

LASHE

You're not going to say anything?

Tekena halts and looks at her.

LASHE(CONT'D)

You're just going to walk up to the room like nothing happened?

TEKENA

I tried explaining to you in the car but you wouldn't listen...

LASHE

I didn't want to hear it then! I want to hear it now.

Tekena starts walking back down.

TEKENA

What do you want me to tell you? That I slept with the celebrant? If I told you I slept with her, you'd believe me. If I told you I didn't, you won't believe. Why don't you just ask her?

LASHE

It's either you think I'm stupid or you're stupid.

TEKENA

Why? Because you saw me with Mercy?

LASHE

Tekena, what where you doing with Mercy in her room? For over ten minutes, I was looking for you.

TEKENA

For what...?

LASHE

And shortly after, the emcee was looking for the celebrant. I had to go upstairs in search of her. And I saw you standing right there, in her room, with your trousers down - and your boxers. What the hell were you two doing?!

TEKENA

You know what? I think I've had enough.

As Tekena tries to walk away, she pulls him back.

LASHE

Had enough? We just started talking...

Tekena hits her in the face.

LASHE(CONT'D)

You hit me? Oh great. You obviously have had enough.

Lashe shoves him aside and walks upstairs. Tekena watch her leave. He picks a different cell phone from pouch.

TEKENA

Where the hell is this guy? This is midnight.

He dials phone.

TEKENA(INTO PHONE)

Hello? Antonio?

ANTONIO(THROUGH PHONE)

I'm busy!

TEKENA(INTO PHONE)

You're busy...?

Antonio drops call.

TEKENA(INTO PHONE)
