INT. MAGNET OIL AND GAS/MISS ETIM'S OFFICE - DAY

Miss Etim and Bruce are both dressed now. Miss Etim is in Bruce's arm.

BRUCE

Just like the football player; I just had to take a shot at goal. It's either I miss or I score. So it was either my job or you. But I'll know I at least took a shot.

MISS ETIM

But then it took you this long to take your shot.

BRUCE

It's better late than never. Moreover, I needed to be sure.

MISS ETIM

Sure of what?

BRUCE

To be sure you felt same too.

MISS ETIM

So what made you sure?

BRUCE

Ah, several things.

MISS ETIM

Like what?

BRUCE

Forget about it.

MISS ETIM

BRUCE

Your mistaken text messages were on purpose.

MISS ETIM

BRUCE

You were even upset when you knew Amara was with me that night. You also tried to make me jealous by taking me to see you on a date with that useless giant.

MISS ETIM

BRUCE

MISS ETIM

BRUCE

(Scoffingly)

Tom. Thank God you didn't have anything to do with him. You'd have been his "Jerry".

They laugh. There is a knock at the door.

MISS ETIM

Who is it?!

VOICE(O.S.)

I'm back ma'am.

MISS ETIM

Amara?

AMARA

Yes, ma'am.

Miss Etim and Bruce hurriedly start to put things in order. She walks Bruce to the door and they put up a pretence:

MISS ETIM

Make sure you get everything before noon!

BRUCE

(Gestures and mouths)

It's noon already.

MISS ETIM

Oh...I meant to say before evening!

Miss Etim opens door and Amara appears.

MISS ETIM(CONT'D)

And make sure you call me when you're through.

BRUCE

Yes, Rose - sorry. Yes, Miss Etim.

(Meditatively)

Yeah, Miss Etim.

Amara is perplexed. She spots a lipstick stain on Bruce's neck. Bruce excitedly leaves the office. Amara still stands by the door watching him leave.

MISS ETIM

Are you going to come in with the money or what?

Amara walks in disconcertedly. As she shuts the door, she sees the gum Bruce used to block the keyhole.
